Irish text Gabhaim molta Bhríde, Ionmhain í le hÈirinn Ionmhain le gach tír í Molaimis go léir í. Lochrann geal na Laighneach a'soilsiú feadh na tire Ceann na mban ar mine. Ceann ar óghaibh Èireann Tig an geimhreadh dian dubh a'gearradh le na ghéire Ach ar Là 'le Bríde Gar dúinn earrach Éireann.

English translation Let us praise Brigid Revered she is in Ireland Revered she is in every land. Let all sound her praises Lantern bright in Leinster Shining throughout our land. Gentlest of all women, Best of Ireland's virgins Comes winter black and fierce, Cutting with its keenness. But come Saint Brigid's Day Near is spring in Ireland.
