- Edition notes:
- The repetition sign (segno) is the signum congruentiae in the original. It means that the 5th and 6th verses should be repeated from the respective sign (that is: 1,2,3,4,5,5,6, and then "em parir..." again)
- In the original manuscript, the syllabes of the lyrics were not arranged for each note. I have done it a way I think it is the best, but it is just my interpretation.

Original text and translations
- De gram prision nos quitó
- Esta virgem soberana
- Em parir esta manhana.
- Ante saecula creata
- La que humilmente senclina
- Por la vontade divina
- Est in coelos elevata.
- Nostros males nos desató
- Esta virgem soberana
- Em parir esta manhana.
- She has taken us from a big prision,
- This sovereign Virgin,
- by giving birth to a child this morning.
- Created before the centuries,
- She who humbly stoops,
- By divine will
- Has been raised to the heavens.
- She has untied us from our ills,
- This sovereign Virgin,
- by giving birth to a child this morning.
- De grande prisão nos tirou
- Esta virgem soberana
- Em parir esta manhã.
- Criada antes dos séculos,
- Aquela que humildemente se enclina,
- Por vontade divina
- Foi elevada aos céus.
- Os nossos males nos desatou
- Esta virgem soberana
- Em parir esta manhã.
