Cum rex magnus esset agnus indigens solatio
natus homo non in domo, castro nel palatio
mox ambivit et quaesivit hunc gentilis natio.

Tria bona Magi dona gravida mysterio
secum ferunt regem quaerunt pio desiderio
stellam ducem novam lucem prosequuntur serio.

Stella stante demonstrante regis almi curiam
Deum verum inter rerum omnium penuriam
cernunt flentem patientem frigoris injuriam.

English translation

When the great king was like a lamb in need to solace,
he was born as a man not in a house, a castle or a palace,
but immediately the gentile nation sought after him.

Three Magi brought (mysteriously) meaningful, important gifts,
and sought the king, guided by devout desire,
following the guiding star, a new light, earnestly.

As the star stood still to show the place where the cherished king was,
they saw the true God—him, of all things— suffering deprivation
and patiently, not crying, tolerate the affront of the cold weather.
