How best to sort pieces within sections
| Help |
Thanks for beating me to moving the ones I did earlier today out of the top section. Can you let me know how you sorted? It was previously in numerical order (probably not an ideal scheme--by composer last name is probably better), but now I can't tell what scheme you're using. Josquin's Pauperum Refugium is one of the ones you moved. If you were just moving into the right section but not sorted within the section, that's fine too. By the way, I'm planning to sort within a couple of hours (same day) of doing some of these, as a batch, so I'm happy sort new entries I add. Let me know your thoughts about what sorting scheme is best and I'll sort them all within sections once I get through checking the rest. |
What to do when a translation is checked
Should the texts and translations be deleted from this page when they are placed on the correct page? Creator of the Stars of Night (Guillaume Dufay), for example, has text and translation entered but this information still exists on this page. Bobnotts 19:52, 26 June 2006 (PDT)
- I think we should keep this page but preface the entries with either DONE: if completed, or else NOTFOUND: and the date if the score is not on CPDL. Optionally, they can be grouped into sections, with the unevaluated ones at the top, the NOTFOUND: ones next and the DONE: ones last. Vaarky 17:28, 22 July 2008 (PDT)
- Previously, I've just been deleting texts and translations that I copied over to the score pages, but your system seems like a logical one, Vaarky. I've just arranged the page as you suggested and extended your idea for colour-coding to have the "NOTFOUND" texts and translations as red. Thanks for your help with this! --Bobnotts talk 19:12, 22 July 2008 (PDT)
steps for wrapping up this project

- I feel like I've wandered into an old growth forest! I rather wish the list was alphabetic with red and blue links to the work pages, but let's see what I can chip away at today. Could there be a CPDL page to link St. Ann Choir to, or a template to produce Translation supplied by The St. Ann Choir, directed by William Mahrt with the link? - I've been tempted to merge the rest of this page to Talk:St Ann choir, but maybe the new link there will encourage someone to keep going till page can be deleted. Richard Mix (talk) 04:02, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
