Gabriel:
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Choir:
She who hears this,
she is puzzled by this speech, and wonders
what is this greeting.

Gabriel:
Don't be afraid, Mary.
You will conceive in your womb
the son of the Father,
and you will name him Jesus.

Choir:
How can this be,
for I know no man?

Gabriel:
The Holy Spirit will overcome in you,
and a strength from above
will fill you.

Choir:
I am the Lord's servant:
let it be thus!
