Ann Ronell

Ann Ronell,1893-1999,composed the wellknown melody "Willow weep for me". It´s often used in jazzgroups, for instance by "The Modern Jazz Quartet" (MJQ) led by John Lewis piano,and with Milt Jackson vib, Percy Heath base, Connie Kay drums(from 1955) and before him, Kenny Clarke(1952-1955). They emerged from Dizzy Gillespies´ bigband and made recordings in Jackson´s name before establishing as a coop-group in 1952.
