Biography

Amherst Webber was born in Cannes, France, and studied in Dresden; the Paris Conservatory; Marlborough College; and New College, Oxford. For several years he was engaged at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York, and at Covent Garden, London, as répétiteur. He was also active as pianist and composer. He died in Kensington, London, England. His compositions include an opera, a symphony, assorted pieces for various instruments, and songs.
